Dear Friends and Family 3/14/06 Tuesday

Charlie and Jack were born yesterday (3/13/06) afternoon at around 12:09pm with emergency C-section at Torrance Memorial Hospital. The babies are in the incubators with intensive care. They were born prematurely. They have to in the incubators for at least 2 months. I was having contraction since last week, when I arrived in hospital I was dilated to 8 centimeters and when my doctor arrived, I was already at 9 cm. My doctor made a quick decision to have an emergency C-section at 12pm and the twins were born at 12:10pm. Charlie was nearly 3 lbs. and Jack was 2.5 lbs. They were so tiny, but strong and healthy for their 28 weeks of life to date.

I will be here until this Friday and go home on Saturday. Stacy is taking care of me and we are hoping the twins are OK. According to my doctor, a decade ago, the age of viability was around 28 weeks for the premature babies. Today, about half of babies born at 24 weeks survive. Charlie and Jack were born at 27 weeks and 5 days. My doctor told me that today’s modern medication and technology will bring positive results for our babies. There are 4 doctors and each child has their own nurse 24/7 in the NICA intensive care room. They watch and monitor the twins and are committed to bringing about the best result out of it. Stacy and I are praying every moment for our babies. We believe that the combination of prayer, the best medical help and our strong genes will bring Charlie and Jack to be very healthy and normal children. We appreciate all of your concerns, prayers and support.

We will put off our baby shower for 4 or 5 weeks and most likely still have it late April, next month. You can e-mail me if you like. I hope you all get this message in time.

I look forward to sharing many memories with all of you and our twins in the years ahead.
